Semiconductor

Semiconductor materials are the foundation of modern electronics, including radio, computers, telephones, and many other devices. Such devices include transistors, solar cells, many kinds of diodes including the light-emitting diode, the silicon controlled rectifier, and digital and analog integrated circuits. Similarly, semiconductor solar photovoltaic panels directly convert light energy into electrical energy.

In semiconductors, 'current' is often schematized as being carried either by the flow of electrons or by the flow of positively charged "holes" in the electron structure of the material.

It is therefore imperative to provide a sanitized environment eliminating all contamination possibilities throughout the whole manufacture process and that equipment and components used within this process can equally achieve such pristine standards.

Vulcan FEP/PFA Encapsulated ‘O’ Rings is one such component. Encapsulated ‘O’ Rings combine the benefits of a Viton® or Silicone elastomeric rubber with the chemical resistance and mechanical properties of FEP/PFA polymer. The result being a chemically inert and sanitary assured ‘O’ Ring seal designed to overcome common sealing difficulties.

FEP/PFA Encapsulated ‘O’ Rings offer far superior performance to solid PTFE ‘O’ Rings that routinely suffer from ’Compression Set’ & ‘Coldflow’. This offers near universal capabilities at a fraction of the cost of Perfluoroelastomer alternatives and a one material replacement to the various common elastomeric ‘O’ Rings (which will fail or suffer performance degradation in severe environments).
